Pretty in Pink

ACCKKK!!  Colour themes!!!  Someone stop me before i have a new title: "Breathtaking in Blue" or "Gracious in Green"!

However...

One of my all-time favourite movies from the 1980s was Pretty in Pink!

Pretty in Pink

Andrew McCarthy!  Molly Ringwald, Jon Cryer!

Sure, the movie was cute, but even better was the soundtrack, which I think was one of THE soundtracks of the 80s - Orchestral Manouevres in the Dark, Suzanne Vega, The Psychedelic Furs, The Smiths... I could go on...

If you have never heard this soundtrack, I encourage you to immediately search it out, put on some neon, tease your hair and tear up some tshirts and fix them with safety pins and you, my friend are away to the races!

I encourage you to watch the eponymous title song here.  Gosh, I do love a pouting Brit from the 80s!!!!  Wait for the moment when the lead singer pushes up his sleeves!  it is so JCrew schoolboy blazer!

But I digress...

Here I am in my pretty pink outfit of the day...

I don't know why I am holding the tree.  I haven't even had my wine yet...

But since my BB is lousy and I do not yet have a new camera, here is the close up of the dress, which is another Michael Kors:

Lovely tiers of pink-ness..

Happy Friday to you all!  It is Friday the 13th and so take care!

  1. Pretty in Pink is also one of my all-time favorite movies and so is the soundtrack. Last year they had several of the songs from the movie playing in the stores at J.Crew. I'm thinking it was specifically geared toward us 'mature' shoppers, as when I would mention something to one of the sales girls about a song, I would always get the deer in the headlights look. They didn't have a clue about the songs, or even know how popular the soundtrack they came from used to be. Now that kind of experience definitely leaves you feeling older. ;)

On another note, I think you look very Pretty in Pink, WMM! Enjoy your day! :)

  2. Thanks FFM! It is funny when you realize that you LOVE music that your kids have never heard of! A few years ago we were in London and Eric Clapton and The Police were playing in Hyde Park. It was amazing. My 13 year old kept saying "I don't think this is really good music..."
