Citron and Navy OOTD

Hi everyone!

Another hot one here today - we are having a hot summer, though not like the summer my friend Dani is having!

I am in the final countdown to leave for Boston tomorrow for my weekend of fun and shopping and at least one museum, not to mention my hot date Sunday night!

Tonight I will be packing and will try Dani's colour story approach!  I will take pictures, but send all good energy my way - I tend to overpack in a very disorganized way - BIG surprise!

Today I am wearing my J Crew Double Serge Cotton No 2 pencil skirt (what a mouthful) in citron.  It appears this colour is sold out online, which is too bad, as I found it very pretty!

We are having trouble taking these pictures - husband says I look wooden...

In this picture, I have paired it with a pair of Steve Madden sandals, a pink tartan navy and white blouse with a little chiffon bow (see detail below) and my Elie Tahari Navy linen jacket.  Legs still white.  In this picture you can tell which boards in the deck we recently had to replace...

I like this blouse.  Not sure it is the most flattering however.  Maybe it is the angle...  It looks nice under a blazer in my opinion..

In an update to the pea coat saga....

Son's girlfriend tried it on and looked spectacular.  It went home with her...  I will be looking for a new one in a more flattering colour....

I hope you have a wonderful day!

  1. I don't think you will miss the peacoat. You didn't seem too fond of it. You will find an amazing coat this fall, J. Crew does coats pretty well in my opinion. I love that skirt. That color is the one that got away while I was waiting for it to go on mega sale. I wasn't too sad, though, I didn't really need it. It's a very pretty color in person and very flattering on. I don't own any tie-front tops so I don't know how I feel about those for myself, but it looks nice on you. Have fun this weekend!

    1. Cate - I think you are right! When I saw how great it fit her and what the colour did on a person with the correct colouring, it was a no-brainer!!!

I will have fun for sure!

  2. Okay I think that pink coat in the look-book is a contender!
This outfit is great, you really do look amazing every day.
We had a big storm last night thank goodness but the temperature is crawling up again, I'm off to the Big Smoke to see Lyle Lovett in concert!
Have an amazing time in Boston!

    1. Oh I love Lyle Lovett! It is up to 28 here again today!!!

I think the pink coat is a contender as well!

I have made a potential list, and I will try and stick to it. More to come on that!

  3. I am really glad you decided to let the peacoat, and completely agree that the pink coat should be a contender! It looks gorgeous with 'my' (hee-hee) jeweled-collar sweater, and the printed capris. I think I am going to have to give them a try, even though that style isn't the most flattering on me. I hope they actually do go with the sweater IRL, unlike so many of the combinations that J.Crew puts together.

I'm looking forward to seeing your list. It sounds like you are making really great progress!
