Oh well - live gives you lemons, you make lemonade!
Since my Thursday post suddenly became my late wednesday morning post, some random things I am loving this week:
1) Joe Fresh - the royal blue wasn't enough for $39, i needed the black too! No pics yet, but love, love, love.... Get the style number here. Isn't the green pretty too?
2) The leaves along the St. John River and the eagle that keeps circling outside the window of my office which overlooks the river. I prefer to think of this as a lovely panorama, as opposed to assuming that the eagle is waiting outside the building for my carcass.
yup - it looks like this here...
3) Corn. I am crazy about corn on the cob and I stake my claim that Hunter Brothers Hydro-cooled sweet corn is the best in the world. You can visit their little youtube video down below. 3 minutes in the pot, super sweet, makes you weep.

Yes, we are that simple here...
4) And finally, I am happy this week about next week being a short workweek because of Thanksgiving!!!

What have you loved about this week?
Have a happy Thursday and stay safe out there! Especially those of you travelling abroad!
I am envious of all you've listed! Still wanting that long sleeve white sequin tee from Joe, the crisp feel and gorgeous colors of autumn (can I come visit?), sweet corn (yes 3 ears for my dinner please) and anticipated short Thanksgiving week already (as my husby says what can be better than food, family and football).
ReplyDeleteHappy Thursday to you!
Thanks Tiffany Rose! I have not seen the long sleeve tshirt ever at our store. They have come out with an interesting one yesterday - blue sequins all over the front in an interesting pattern and plain jersey sleeves. It ran a little small. I normally find their medium okay to baggy - this medium just fit so I may flip it for a large as I want to wear it with my navy minnies. Would you like a picture? $29 cdn was the price.
DeleteI have eaten my weight in corn on the cob and acorn squash, I'm also loving the autumnal leaves and the cold but dry sunny days we've been having, it's my favourite weather.
ReplyDeleteMe too! Just love the colour!
DeleteThat is my favorite weather too. Unfortunately we don't see enough of it down here.
DeleteWMM, sweet! Have you ever tried making succotash or corn chowder? Our other ways to table the glorious excess of corn from the market. Do you have a Thanksgiving outfit planned yet? And N.B. (not enabling, just advising) your coral clutch pick (the former Lexi)is now marked down $162.99 (think London Fog was the more every day bargain tho'. Did make it to JC at the Eaton Centre and drank a bit of crewlade, but only an item each from my definitely (need) and maybe (like but already have similar list. Also saved self PTTO by rejecting more JC shoes (Martinas). And was most taken by the men's story actually. The better styling IMO.
ReplyDeleteMake that store.
DeleteI hear you about the men's section - it still feels very classic and less trendy, with the odd bit of a twist.
DeleteNo idea yet for Thanksgiving outfit. Lord - will have to put my head around that now - definitely harvest-y for sure!
Can't wait to hear details of what you bought! I am hoping to be in TO end of January for meetings; there will 2 crews then, won't there? Is the eaton centre version bigger than yorkdale?
haven't been on site all week - will have to drop over!
Hi WMM, oh, do hope to see you in January (and for the Les Mis premiere, we Anne gals can dream.) Eaton Centre women's is slightly bigger than Yorkdale with a marginally better fitting room area. They have a dedicated side room for suit and Collection type pieces (lots of the Paisley Jules) and then the whole men's store ajacent. (Right on same row as new Anne Taylor and popular Sephora, across from Coach.) Third Toronto Fairview Mall (North York) store opens end of this month. Since I can get to Eaton Centre on foot under 15 minutes and Yorkdale on TTC or by car easily, doubt I will get to latest outpost much. However, I am hoping it will improve the sizing selection. And it is good to be able to check out sizes and colours in person whenever. Checking things out once a quarter IRL has actually helped me to consume far less Crewlade. Although yesterday it was tad irritating to see all kinds of items full price that are already heavily discounted on the site. The two SAs I dealt with were super-helpful but it was funny to know far more about their merch than them (names, colours etc.) Several of them were shopping for themselves, beyond their opening day outfits, since a crew had been in since 7:00 a.m. for opening stocking. The floor staff discount is 30% but only applies to select cashmere apparently.
ReplyDeleteI got the navy downtown field jacket (when it turned up in July at my last Yorkdale visit they only had black) from my list and took it straight to the tailor (sleeve length, a perennial annoyance for me). A bit aggro to discover it's $172 onsite and $178 in store. I also picked up a not-on-site locket with charms (elephant, roman-ish coin) for a surprising $49.00 (only item on sale I think with a handwritten SKU tag) and the toss up is the sparkle row cami in navy (holiday events) or the buffalo plaid shirt in blue colourway (everyday wear). However, since the silk top was FP in store and it's now $114 online I think it will be my first-ever JC B&M return.
Good on you for staying off-site!
Those sound like great hauls!
DeleteI had 2 boxes in the mail and am pleased with all! Will do some reviews this weekend! I love that downtown jacket!
Oh, that river view is stunningly beautiful! I love corn too, that gives me an idea for dinner? Does Canadian Thanksgiving involve turkey? I love all the Thanksgiving food, cannot wait... Why I am so hungry, I just ate my lunch. Bother...
ReplyDeleteLots of turkey! And pie, and squash... I am hungry now, too!
DeleteWhat a beautiful view you have. I love corn, but more so in the summer. I eat it plain, if it's good it doesn't need anything on it. Although, camping last summer, we prepared corn in foil with butter and salt and grilled it and it was amazing. Now that it's cooler I was craving beef stew and made that today, so good! No Joe Fresh for me, I have never run across any. Is it only sold in some regions?
ReplyDeleteIt is in all the grocery stores here and I know it is in NYC - lots of good stuff
DeleteOh how I would just absolutely love to have a view like that outside my window! It must make being at work much more enjoyable. :)
ReplyDeleteYay for a short work week, and your Thanksgiving Holiday! Do you cook your family's Thanksgiving dinner, or do you prefer to eat out that day?
I do cook it and love to do so! I am way behind in the planning - need to get myself in gear!
DeleteOh just looking at that view makes me homesick. Born in Toronto and I miss the fall colours. We use to put the kids in the car and drive North just to see them. Out West we don't get the reds and brilliant yellows. Can't wait for Thanksgiving . It's my favourite holiday and our two boys will be home from university and I'll be in the kitchen listening to their stories. have to stock up on the Stella tomorrow.
