As promised, here are some other recent treasures I purchased in my non-shopping fall (YEAH, RIGHT! FFM- I need an intervention!)
The first, are the Ralph Lauren trousers which I added as they completely filled a hole in my closet - brown tweedy trousers (honestly - they really did fill a hole!). I paired them with the same Joe Fresh blouse I showed you on Tuesday and a new faux leather blazer which I purchased at a local shop. I truly do not mind that this is faux leater - it was a fraction of the cost of real leather, I already have real leather, and I truly loved the burnt caramel colour. Looking at this outfit now I think a lovely royal purple or blue would have been divine, but would love your thoughts!
I really love this look and the trousers make my legs look so tall!
The other thing that I purchased, which was ungodly expensive, was a beaded ivory wool cardigan by Nougat London. When I saw it , I knew I wanted it - it is very luxe and will be lovely for dressy events or interesting when paired with trousers or jeans as below:
In this picture, I am pairing it with the ivory silk tshirt blouse I purchased at the monoprix in Paris. I love this look, probably because it reminds me of Anne of Green Gables and the much bally-hooed "alabaster brow."
A closeup of the detail, including the ivory velvet elbow patches:
This is such an exquisite piece, which I will have to wear lots to get the maximum CPW! I do love a sweater with embellishments and I am not sad that I purchased this. I see that the temperatures are actually expected to hit regular October temperatures this week, so I actually brought out all of my cashmere (jeepers - it sounds like I have a lot - I do not - but I actually have 5 cashmere sweaters to my name!
An even closer look at the beadwork.
Hope all is well and that you are having a wonderful week. It is Friday and I have worked too hard this week. Rhone Valley, take me away... How were your weeks!
Have a great day and stay safe out there!

Love the pants paired with the Joe Fresh blouse and then with the white cashmere cardi! I agree, maybe a different jacket for the top outfit would work better. Blue, purple, black would work nicely.
ReplyDeletethanks ROse!
DeleteI'm dying to buy something I just can't see anything I like. Your legs are amazing they really are,
ReplyDeleteI am going to put that onmy business cards - quoting you!
DeleteOoooo ivory is another beautiful color for you! That beaded cardigan is exquisite and the elbow patches are fun bits. I love that outfit, so pretty!
ReplyDeleteIt is always the shade of something isn't it? I love that kind of creamy ivory - but it has to be the right shade and I have to wear lipstick!
DeleteI'll always fall for a sweater like that, it's beautiful. It will go with so much, too. I can't see the jacket or pants that well, but the pants do make your legs look long. I like hearing about brands I have never heard of, it is interesting to see something new (to me) and it helps me step away from the Crewlade (see your blog is like my intervention!).
ReplyDeleteWell i still drink crewlade - ordered the berry wool skirt this am - so cheap and well, pink...
DeleteWMM, yes, let the cocktail hour/ vino (merlot, burgundy, cabernet are all on trend after all) flow. I will confess pin envy (again sigh)and add my thought that those RL trousers are a strong closet investment. From what I can see I like the jacket and adding a bit of mix to a classic look, but I do think the trousers and blouse would shine best with a "cooler" undertoned topper. I'd favour a chocolate jacket for that rich, long, lean look that suits you well. Trying to remember where I walked by more good for-a-season pleather options...?
ReplyDeleteKeep me posted GF - agree - i think this blazer would look best with jeans, but other colours? Could i wear it with caramel leather skirt or to leather suit likev
DeleteThat sweater is AMAZING... worth whatever you paid, I'm sure! I love special pieces like that. They make you feel good when you wear them!
ReplyDeleteI know - i really love it!
