Anne Hatheway's Wedding - on the day it was supposed to post...

I am not a celebrity watcher, though I do love a nice wedding.  And I do love a lovely star like Anne Hatheway, who always looks so classy to me!

I like a gal that protects her skin from the sun:

Wish I had done that more in my 20s...

Always so classy:

I have not seen close-ups of her dress, but I would appear to me that it looks tasteful:

I rarely blog about celebrities, but she is so lovely and I do like to note loveliness where I see it!

So here's to you Miss Anne Hatheway!  May you have your 27th wedding anniversary in Paris as well!

But enough of Anne - how about me?

I reversed an outfit I wore a couple of weeks ago:

It is going to be warm here today, so I decided to wear the morse code capris with the navy polka dot blouse, paired with a navy jackie cardigan and red suede donald j. pliner shoes that I got at the end of last season for a wonderful price.  They have a 2" kitten heel and I always feel very Ava Gardner in them!  They kind of match the dog's bowl, don't they?  No hosiery required today!

Have a wonderful day and stay safe out there!

  1. Lovely outfit. I must wear my morse code capris this way!

I love Anne Hathaway too, she seems down to earth and I love her paleness. Ha! She's gorgeous. Her dress looks awesome, too.

  2. Hah, matching dog bowl as accessory! Love it. I'm liking your Morse Code Capris a lot; I only just noticed the pattern in this picture. I think it's a look that must've been on my mind, as I recently got a pair of pleated-front menswear-style pants with a similar graphic pattern.

And yes yes yes to the sunbrella! I wish it were a more acceptable thing to do in the States -- the times I've been to Asian countries, they're all over the place! But if Anne Hathaway is doing it, perhaps it's already fashionable in Hollywood? I whipped out an umbrella on a rare 100-degree day here in the Northwest, and while people looked at me, I overheard one lady who walked past saying, "that's a good idea."

    1. I know! I thought the same thing which is why I clipped the picture! I need a parasol. Since I will likely be very eccentric old lady, no reason not to start now!

  3. Oh I love Ava Gardner more than Ann Hathaway, so shoes that make you feel like her get the thumbs up from me!

    1. Why am I NOT surprised that you would like Ava! I think you are very Ava-esque (if Ava was a writer married to an academic!) and I like to think of myself as very ? Hmm - I don't know, but I am going to work on finding a movie icon to be like immediately!

  4. I really like Anne Hathaway, after all she is an Anne "with an e" so perhaps a kindred spirit? And her dress is GORGEOUS! My gosh, I often look at brides (including myself in the old photos) and think what-the? But she chose well, she is a classy girl.
Love your outfit, and thanks for your comments on my blog, I'm going to try to respond later, but you know the debates are on tonight, I am a very careful observer of American politics, I am half-American, they are my people. Anyway I knew you'd love our little fashion girl in her leopard outfit! How funny and also that she wanted to share it on my blog, she said "the ladies need a laugh". And we do!
    xo!

  6. DEBATE BREAK Ah WMM, a double treat day, thanks. You know I have a vested interest in other stylish Anne role models. Delighted to see her happily married after her first engagement turned out to to be a total (as in jailed for tax fraud) cad. Not sure why all the fuss re. the headband? Quite restrained and '20s retro compared to some Hollywood nuptial get-ups. I have seen AH in person at TIFF and just as lovely looking as on film. (Have you seen "One Day" - not as unique as the novel but...?) As for sumbrellas, I worked among the throngs of Japanese tourists in Banff and currently live right on the perimter of TO's original Chinatown so I tend to think of them as the norm. I stick to fedoras tho', too afraid of smack-poking someone accidentally in the city crowd.

    1. GetFresh - I wondered if the headband was because of having the very short hair right now? I like One Day, though it made me cry. But then, movies like that ALWAYS make me cry!!!

And the two was truly accidental, but funny! I guess I had a lot to say this week!!!!

She would make a lovely Anne! The great tragedy of my life is that no one has ever, properly, truly, done the Anne books. Maybe it is just as well?

  7. What a beautiful dress and she seems so mature for such a young lady. I can't wait to see her in Les Miserables. As usual you look fabulous today and it shows in your smile.

    1. Oh I should have a counter (will figure out how to do that!) on bottom of this blog for when Les Miserables is released! I may have to fly to TO just to see it on first night! I hope it goes wide release quickly! Thanks for the lovely compliment. I think the smiles are because of my husband, who pretends he is Austin Powers and I am Mrs. Kensington!

    2. WMM if you jet to the Big Smoke I'll queue up for the tickets. There's a big Cineplex right round the corner from me, in the theatre district or one on "Mink Mile" where we can actually have champagne. Otherwise, we'll have to have a Les Mis premiere blog party...Had never thought of AH as that Anne. As for the role crop, I think it suits her, much as Portman's did, although I know limiting for wedding 'dos.

  8. Navy is your color, isn't it! Love your touch of matching the dog bowl with your shoes, they are the perfect accent for your smashing outfit. If we had the same shoe size, I'd likely want to have you deed them over. I love that blouse on you. ;)

I don't know much about Anne but I love how average-person she looks in that first pic.
