Sarah Jessica Parker's Brownstone

I am still the last woman on the planet who has not seen Sex and the City.

I will likely not buy her shoes, at least the high heel ones.

SJP 'Etta' Pump (Nordstrom Exclusive)

though I do like the flats

SJP 'Wallace' Sandal (Nordstrom Exclusive)

But when I caught a look at her Brownstone in a video interview that Vogue just did with her here, I was in love.

OMG! I love it!

Most celebrity's homes don't look like real homes.  This one does.  It looks like my taste, if I just had a wee bit more money...

One of my dreams has always been to put this kind of trim around our arches..

Sarah Jessica Parker's New York City digs has walls lined with bookshelves.

And I love the green!

In the picture behind her you can see they have a ping pong table set up..

Sarah Jessica Parker shows off her home while answering questions for Vogue in a new video interview.

It looks like real people live here!

Someone likes reading and baseball in the Sarah Jessica Parker-Matthew Broderick home.

So today I have another girl crush!

I love love love this place, though I do worry that SJP looks tired!

And in my ongoing quest to shop and dress from my own closet and in simpler garb, exhibit A:

black cashmere crew, black boots, navy marc cain skirt.  Simple.  Made me feel all Sofia!

Me in makeup and new nars funny face pink lipstick.  Smiling through the crows feet, heehee!

We got 2 feet of snow Tuesday:

Thank god for the snapdragons on the dining room table:

More to report from tea party tomorrow!  Have a great Saturday and stay safe out there!

    1. I have only seen it in reruns. My daughter made me watch them.

    2. I am relieved I was not the only one!

    3. I've never seen a single episode, thought I was the only one. I've always wanted to see it for the shoes and clothes.

    4. Watched in reruns. One of those shows you do not have to watch beginning to end. One show here, one show there, doesn't matter the order. I found it very funny.

    5. Wow, I didn't miss an episode when it was on, it was so good in the early days.

  2. Good lord, you are being slammed by Mother Nature!! Did you know that SJP has a new shoe line that just debuted at Nordstrom? Not many flats in the collection and to be honest, most of the shoes look terribly pedestrian. I love this look on you and must say...crows feet are my new black darling!! xo

    1. I have found a pair of shoes I love from Chloe and am now looking for a cheaper alternative. So far Stuart Weitzman is a possibility. I have two shoe wants this spring: a really nice minimalist cognac coloured sandal and black leather d'orsay flats. I am not thinking I will be able to afford both, so thank goodness I have lots of time to think on it!

  3. Love the outfit. Simple chic is my favourite look! I was a SATC fan in its heyday but don't think I'd buy her shoes. Her home is fabulous though. Deep art envy going on!!

    1. I had the same deep art envy and loved her little twirls in the video! I am a fan of art covered walls and am forced to do that in my own house as there are so many windows and arches and so little wall space that I have to double up! and triple up!

    2. I've probably seen them all too, but her style couldn't be more opposite my own so, although I can admire her style and her shoes, I won't be buying them.

  4. I think her shoe range looks lovely, very vintage 40's feel to them.
You do look very Sofia, oh boy that snow looks a bit much now, I'd be in a giant fleece onesie.

  5. I do like that brownstone! Very home-y and inviting. Plus anyone with a ping pong table in their living space gets my vote! :) She looks tired, though, or dare I say it like maybe she had some work done that isn't the best? I like her, though, and I still think she looks great. You look about 15 years younger than she does, however (you lucky duck!)!

    1. Cate - your cheque is in the mail! I swear its the extra weight I have on now! I am saving my skinny years now for my 80s and 90s!

  6. Her house looks lived in and comfortable, that's pretty refreshing to see in a celebrity home though I think homes are styled within an inch of their lives for magazines.
Our snow has been melting for two days and boy is it ugly outside. Have a great tea party today and I can't wait to hear all about it!

    1. What I really want is my dictionary up like that! I saw a music stand at winner yesterday and think I am going to go get it and put it up in the library!

    2. Wendy, and then you'd need a dictionary like the one I used to have in my living room, it was something like 12 x 17 x 4 inches thick and I loved it. Still do.

    3. TR - you are right! All I have no is a wonderful hardcover OED. But one step at a time...

  8. Epic snow in Maine, too. The chickens tell me ( over the phone) they've had it!

I've only seen some of the reruns; I think I'm Charlotte. SJP seems sweet, but agree needs a big steak or a nap.

Tea party sounds perfect; perhaps it will segue into wine hour?

    1. I am thinking chicken is a mad wet hen now?

      It may well segue Lane!

    2. Hilarious Lane! I see them on an old bakelite two piece phone.
I'm a Carrie but then everyone wanted to be Carrie. Write a column, live 100 x above your means!

  9. And you want me to come up there? I will definitely be late for the tea. SJP has taken a beating through out her career and she handles it all with grace. She looks like very other worn out mother...love it. I remember when we had a plastic playhouse right in the middle of our living room. It was just the pop of color we needed.

    1. I love houses that look like people are there! I liked that she didn't take him upstairs as something tells me where those little kids really live and play is different!

Blue Booby - Thank you!! I am going to use that type of thinking on my husband. LOL

  10. A disclaimer: I love, love, love SJP so there will be no negativity. Her shoes look cute but I doubt I will try them. I think her home is fabulous. Tasteful and lived in is the best.
I have seen every episode of SiTC and the movies multiple times so it is obvious I'm a fan. Wendy I think you would really relate to Carrie (SJP). Like you, she is a writer dealing with deadlines, writer's block, story ideas and crashing computers. She starts out as a newspaper columnist and then ends up writing books. The show features book signings, meetings with publishers, choosing cover photos etc. Like you she has a love of fashion, especially shoes, and a passion for books and reading. What's not to love except her wisp of a body. I recommend you start from the beginning ASAP!

    1. SC - Okay - off to check Netflix and see if they have the seasons - I knew I need to seem them in order. And I think they are only 1/2 hour right?

  11. Used to watch SATC with friends to facilitate a drinking game in college. It's hilarious as long as you don't take any of it seriously.

I still think the Golden Girls are the original SATC girls:
    Sophia/Miranda - the dry-witted one
    Rose/Charlotte - the innocent one
    Blanche/Samantha - the promiscuous one
Dorothy/Carrie - the glue that holds the whole group together.

I love Golden Girls and would happily watch a marathon. SATC, not so much.

    1. LOL, xoxo, SATC is a remake like so many things successful the first time around. Great catch!

    2. xoxo - that is funny! All of the gay men I know are obsessed with The Golden Girls! I never really watched it myself, but I do love all of those ladies!

  12. What crow's feet? So brazen of you to wear black and navy together. I've put them on and always change as I am not bold enough to carry that off. You look chic and fabulous!

I'd love to run through all that snow, would you believe, but maybe it's only good in my imagination. We never got winter this winter and I'm sadly putting my coats and scarves and heavy sweaters away after anticipating cooler temps at some point. I'm thankful for what we have but still ...

    1. TR - it is funny - Once I had it on I really liked them together! It makes me think of what they used to say when I was a kid about another colour combo "blue and green shouldn't be seen..."

Come on up. We will take you snowshoeing, etc!

  13. Jeepers - I can't believe your weather. After our blast of heat for 6 weeks, it seems Summer is over and we're feeling very Autumnal here. I actually put on the fire last night, which was very cosy with the sound of the rain falling on the tin roof.
Love SJP's house too. I like a house that looks lived in and collected, rather than decorated. I was never that fond of Sex and the City though. Like most series I enjoyed it for the first couple, then it started to annoy me as the characters became so developed they become set in their ways (Downton Abbey has done the same for me). Her 'quirky' or cutesy persona in the show used to irritate me for some reason. xx
