The Lovely Jen over at Dwell on These Things has flagged me to share the above.
I am so behind in all of my post topics, and not feeling 100% today, so I'm taking the easy way out and getting right to these, so thank you dear Jen!
1. One of my favourite shows ever was the one season wonder A Year in The Life. It had an amazing cast - Adam Arkin, Richard Kiley, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jayne Atkinson - and only lasted one season. I was one of the 5 people who watched it and I have been bitter towards NBC about its cancellation ever since.
That was 1987, did I mention I can
2. Hold a grudge? well not too often, but I am an inherently trusting person and if someone does something really awful that breaks that trust, like say cancel a wonderful TV show, I can be slow to forgive.
3. I was the first girl to serve as a server in the Anglican Church in New Brunswick. It was a big deal at the time, thank god, now, not so much. However, I do not attend church now, but prefer to leave my spirituality and religion up on Walton's Mountain...
4. Cause I love, love, love the first few seasons of The Waltons. When I still catch an episode now and then and the episode includes Will Geer and Ellen Corby, I sit right down, as I know I am in for a treat.
5. My favourite Popsicle flavour is root beer. It is also the only kind of pop I will drink. I am like an eleven year old boy.
7. I never, ever, wear a belt. I have them, but I hate them. I never feel comfortable with a belt on. Now I wonder why I have them?
8. Every time I see a hummingbird I get giddy. Between May and September they come constantly and it never gets old. But all that giddiness can wear you out. You wouldn't think it would, but it does.
9. I meditate every day but I am almost never able to keep my mind quiet. There is a reason I am attracted to hummingbirds.
10. I have never met a book about France - from cooking to fashion to décor to travel to history - that I didn't like.
11. When I become a bazillionaire, I am going to have Ralph Lauren help me out - clothes-wise, house-wise, work-wise. I adore Ralph Lauren. I am pretty sure he would adore me, too.
bonus fact:
Jen says she is a germophobe. Just yesterday I searched for a piece of cookie I dropped on the carpet for at least 8-10 seconds, found it and ate. There's that eleven year old boy again...
There you go, some random pieces of information! Looking forward to reading the others! Have a great day out there and tomorrow, we will take a little journey to Italy via Orlando. Only in America...
stay safe out there!
I was going to tag you too so I will link back to this page! I would have eaten that cookie as well!!
ReplyDeletethank god I am not alone Naomi!
DeleteThat was fun to read. I too love, love, love root beer but will only buy four a month. I watched the first and only season of Terriers and was very disappointed it was cancelled. I actually remember those Talbot shoes...I thought they were beautiful. Hope you are at 100% after your afternoon nap :)
ReplyDeleteoh I wish I could nap! That would be the 12th fact - I have to be REALLY sick to sleep during the day!
DeleteFeel better soon, friend! Germophobe here too, no five second rule, even when things fall on the table. I admire non germophobe people, I'm constantly doused in hand sanitizer and the like. Not sure it's good for you, but it certainly makes me feel better!
ReplyDeleteAnd I promise (for real) that I'm emailing you today!
ha! Well I cannot eat somewhere if the kitchen is dirty. I practically gag!
DeleteThe meditation traditions speak of monkey mind; I will now refer to hummingbird mind, a more charming sounding mental restlessness.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you--will eat off floor. Good for the immune system.
Doctors orders! I feel vindicated!
DeleteLovely to read Wendy. I hope you will get better soon. The one with the shoes could have been me not so long ago... I am slowly getting over this... Having a mind at peace, does such a thing really exist???
ReplyDeleteoh am sure is one of those 24 hour things! Just a wee tummy things! A mind at peace would be a surprising thing for me!
DeleteGreat post! Thanks for playing. Love those shoes. Truly gorgeous. When we have the great canadian blogger road trip, you will have to wear them. I adore Ralph Lauren. I'd happily move into his Rhinelander mansion store. Plenty of room for all of us. Love root beer. Especially A&W in the frosty mug. Cannot meditate at all. Far too ADHD. I admire your attempts!
ReplyDeleteJen - I will say that I often "suddenly" solve writer problems when I am meditating, so it's definitely worth it to try!
DeleteI will wear them, but only sitting down in your living room. You wil have to wait on me hand and foot!
I LOVE the fact that you hunted for and ate that cookie piece. I do that -- partly because I'm hungry for that cookie piece but also to keep the floor a little cleaner.
ReplyDeleteSandy - so true!
DeleteThese are fun. I never tire of books on French anything either and my mind is a chatterbox while I try to meditate. What's up with that? Feel better soon. Xo
ReplyDeletethanks Jennifer. Not much of an issue, but keeping me close to home!
DeleteI would have eaten the piece of cookie and lifted up the couch skirt to see what other goodies were hiding! OK not really on the latter. But I am the opposite of a germophobe. I wash my hands often but otherwise pretend germs don't exist, and I have survived this long!
ReplyDeleteI hear you! Since I have such deadly allergies - fish, nuts - I pretty much worry about them and let the rest go!
DeleteHope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeletethanks Ina! All well now I think!
DeleteOh I loved the Waltons! I'd love to happen by the Baldwin sisters for a taste of the 'recipe'.
ReplyDeleteOh My God I loved them!
DeleteHI Wendy, I'm enjoying all these 11 Things posts. I, too, love books on French style etc., and I think that Forever Chic is one of the best.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to Italy tomorrow!!
I wish we were really there!
DeleteDelightful post, Wendy. I also love The Waltons!
ReplyDeleteTrixie and the Waltons! We were meant to meet!
DeleteHappy St. Patty's Day Wendy! I would have ate the cookie too! :) I have some major catching up to do, with your trip and all. Hope you are doing well and not buried under 50 ft of snow! It is thankfully starting to melt here.
