Well it is Thursday and I seem to have a newly minted case of mint fever.
Oh, you know that I have been all neutral lately, except for the other day when I was a lovely orchid blue shade. and then three days ago, when I wore pink, top to bottom.
I should have known that was a sign...
And then yesterday it hit full force.
It started with these pants:
I had seen them in store n New York City. Such a lovely pale shade of mint. I could see them with ballet flats, my new Tory Burch shoes, my minty green Valentina slingbacks of 2012... And then they went on sale and are now 30% of that...A navy top, a black top, a white top, pinks, etc, etc.
And then I thought about sweaters. I had seen this featherweight cashmere sweater in NYC and actually tried it on. It was a delightful, healthful shade, a paler, mintier version of the retro jade.
Oh dear, expensive. So I headed over to the factory site. Maybe there was a cheaper version?
Well there was: The Clare Cardigan, at a much more reasonable price:
Not a bad version of the colour and a $100 or so cheaper - but would I like it as much??? I think so.
And then, darn it, there was also a spearmint sequin tank top!
And then I remembered that the wonderful A Bigger Closet made a lovely set with the pinwheel capris and I had to go see it here.
Sigh. Yes, I know it is easter. I know I have Spring fever. But then I think how pretty these would be with the things I already have. I think of my shoes, with lovely new friends. I think of the sequin tank with jeans, both blue and white. Ah dear...
How about you, are you steering towards mint, or shall we just have a Mojito, instead?
Happy Thursday and Stay Safe Out there! Will keep you posted on what I decide!

I love mint too, but would be more drawn to the tops. Colored bottoms are more of a hard sell for me. Curiously, i woke up today, and decided to wear a lavender sweater. Even though my car is covered with frost. Save me a Mojito!
ReplyDeleteI will have it ready when you get off work! I think we may all have spring fever!
DeleteMojito for me please! I do like mint though, but I don't know if I could pull off pastel trousers, I'd stick to the twinset.
ReplyDeleteOkay, mojito for you it is! I have more mint than I can use in a lifetime!
DeleteI also saw some chinos in venitian green (jcrew and their names) which might be equally satisfying, cheaper and less pastel-y...
I'll take a Mojito too. Mint is lovely, but I'm with Tabitha. Mint bottoms on me would be truly terrifying.. Love the mint cashmere twinset
DeleteNEWLY MINTED Adding my name to Mojito order. Making an Asian slaw with mint today, actually. I am surprised at the trousers, but that's 'cause I would likely decorate them with grass stains (we know I don't do pale pants.) Also, you've seen IRL, but I find the bottoms a bit of a difficult hue to match with. With our B&P Tabs that a modern twinset could be very refreshing on you though. Think those Clare cardis are 100% cotton as well?
ReplyDeletePicked up St. Barts to keep (used to go there most summers long before it became rich & famous) yesterday, and surprisingly there was nothing that said my name in store or catalog. Look forward to your final decisions/ selections.
Luckily I have lots of mint for all! You ave all almost talked me out of trousers... Not quite, but pretty close :-)
DeleteWill see how I feel after cleaning bathrooms. That is always the best equalizer!
I'd probably wear the twinset, but not the rest. I'll be having a Mojito as well.
ReplyDeleteKathy it's only 5:36 where you are! You are my kind of woman!
Delete4th mojito please! Not to be an enabler or anything, but all those look blue based and you know what we think about WMM and blue. For me, resistance is futile with the Jackies, or any cardigan really, to the point where my husband is ready to utter, automatically "another cardigan????!!!!" when provoked. Not that he doesn't hand over the credit card, but still.
ReplyDeleteHi anthro blogger! I know - I love cardigans as well as am always cold! I actually have $ in PayPal, so can afford it, so I may go ith the sequin Clare version. I the factory cardis over retail because of the 100% cotton!
DeleteYes! I heard about this 100% thing. You are going to have to let me know how the factory Jackie compares to retail. Do they keep their shape? Do they wash and wear well? So many questions!

DeleteAnd I'm always cold! In the midst of spring weather, but with my heater on at 74. Absolutely shameful, I know.
DeleteYou sound like me - drives my husband crazy!
DeletePretty greens; I like a pale turquoise/aqua for my coloring better. My girls' bath has been a mint green for years and today, in fact, it is becoming robin's egg blue! If the painters show up. Now, be careful with the sequins, WMM.
ReplyDeleteI was waiting for someone to talk me down from the sequins! :-)
DeleteToo much?
Robins egg blue is one of my most favourite colours ever!
Benjamin Moore "birds egg"-- best ever!
DeleteI prefer my mint in salads and since I don't drink, on my hot tea, please. I find mint very hard to wear with my pale coloring. It seems also very hard to match with what I have in my wardrobe. Having said that, I believe one should wear what makes them happy and makes them feel good, so go for it.
ReplyDeleteTea it is and plenty left for salads! Oh who knows, I may suddenly go all navy! :-)
DeleteHi Marie, did you say the other day that you use an app to help you calm your breathing? If you don't mind sharing, what is its name? Thanks!
DeleteHi Abby, the app is called Long Deep Breathing. You can adjust the breathing length & duration. Hope you find it helpful too.
DeleteThank you, I will look it up!
DeleteI've never had a mojito in my life so I'm in, I've always wanted to try one.
ReplyDeleteI like all shades of mint green, so fresh. I have to say I like all of your picks including the sequins, I think I have spring fever too.
Oh Dani - Barry makes the best mojitos - you will love them! Maybe we have easter fever???
DeleteI'll have a mojito, please!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sold on any of those clothes. I can't quite picture the mint on you - do you have anything in that colour and does it work on you? But that colour is one of my least favourites, so I'm not a good judge on this one!
Still snowing here.
Oh yuck to snow! ALl i see in my yard is snow! It has to be a darker mint - the pales wash me out. Yhe sequins look dark enough as does the spearmint. the featherweight cashmere was dark enough as well, but the jackie version completely made me look ill!
DeleteI like your mint selection, but would wear none of them... I really don't think they would suit my skin... Regarding the mojito, I will pass on this one if you don't mind ;-)
ReplyDeleteHow about some mint tea? I have more than enough mint to go around!
DeleteLet me tell you what I love with mint: strawberries or raspberries! It is a lovely mix!
Deleteyou got it!
DeleteLove all your mint picks and i would pick the mint trousers if i had to choose.
ReplyDeleteI adore colored bottoms and just bought some bright mint chinos from Scotch Maison(a dutch company, available at shopbop). They will be great with white and navy.
I think that is always the problem - I have grabby hands and want all, but really it would be too much mint for my closet! I think top or bottom, but am torn. ON other hand...
DeleteMint julep for me, please!
ReplyDeleteoh i hope this means we are going to the races in Kentucky!
DeleteOhhh the spermint sequined top is calling my name, how did I miss it? As a matter of fact I just received a spermint factory necklace (the crystal studs one) that was waitlisted when I ordered it and the color is too gorgeous (plus it goes well with the bazaar popover). If the cafe capris were not eyelet I think I would go for them (but I am not too much of an eyelet person). Off to look at the venitian green chinos! Let us know what you decide!
ReplyDeleteI wondered how you missed them as well! I always count on you and and Tiffany ROse for the sparkle. The eyelet is what is holding me back, but the chinos, look darker...
DeleteI don't REALLY need anything... But I do have spring fever! I have also been contemplating ordering the banana top during the 30% off - that would be perfect for a hot summer day or night!
I'll have the Mojito please. When Spring arrives with snow, wearing spring bright colours in cozy fabrics is a great way to transition the seasons. Mint with sequins would be too much flash for me also but in the heat of summer, after several Mojitos...who knows?
ReplyDeleteI keep forgetting to say - I was trolling your blog the other day and came across the post on how to wear a white shirt! I think you may have finally been the one to sell me on the white shirt, as now I have found ways that are flattering! The tie at waist! WHo knew it would make all the difference????
DeleteHi Wendy,
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I don't have anything spearmint. I missed out last year . I think you'd look great in the sequin tank .I love sparkles on you.
Do you still have snow? We're going up to 18-20 on Sunday. The sun was out today . What a difference!
HI Marsha - wait till you see what I did order in the sales - completely different! I may yet go back for those sparkles, but maybe I should stick to ivory and black sparkles! Then I realized I did have a mint blouse from last year, so I will make do with that!
DeleteLove love love mint --- even when it is no longer the IT color!
ReplyDeleteKeep your great posts coming!
