My Nougat London Version of the Jules Silk Dress

Happy Friday!

Today's outfit involves a new dress that I purchased locally here.  It is a wool/silk dress by Nougat London.  I was attracted to it immediately - while the brown sage-y colour is not my colour per se, the silk panel with the silver and blues makes it wearable for me.  It is very comfortable!

There was a wee small chocolate brown velvet belt attached at the sides.  I snipped the loops as I prefer it without the belt and if I want to wear it with the belt again, well, it is still sitting on my dresser!  For sizing purposes, this is a size 2 or medium.

I am wearing it here with my chocolate brown cole haan riding boots.  The dress was $250CDN, which puts it in the same ballpark as the Jules dress.  It was actually longer - I had it hemmed two inches, so for those of you taller gals, this might be more wearable than the jules!  It is also sturdier I think, with the merino wool in the back!

I don't see it yet on their website, but some of you good internet sniffers may find it elsewhere!

I think it would also look good with my brown leather equestrian belt, but since I was driving to PEI, I had no interest in constriction!

have a wonderful day and be careful out there!

  2. DRESS SUCCESS That's a really appealing print WMM. Sounds like it gave you the sought-after "I feel pretty" vibe. And a nice switch-up from the suits. S'truth, the island has never looked so fine on a workday. Plus good to see a dress that actually had to be hemmed versus worn as a tunic. Know Nougat for body care (they are carried by Upper Canada Soap around here) and have seen a few tops in Brit mags, but who knew, frocks. Happy weekend, countdown to Miller Time starts soon...

    1. Hey Getfresh, I actually bought 3 pieces from Nougat London: this dress, an ivory beaded cardigan, and an orange sweater with a silk back panel! I was at meetings wearing this dress and had so many compliments!

And yes - this is the first thing I have had to hem in months - sad when you consider I am 5'2"!

  3. Love this dress on you and I have to tell you, every time you wear something that is a little bit over the top I LOVE it on you and think this is your true style, it makes me happy for you :) I love classic simple and streamlined but I think you are one of those 'bigger than life' personalities that just beg for a little 'more'. Have a lovely weekend!

  4. I was just going to say that I would wear that dress belted, and then I read on. LOL I loved some of the Nougat items I have seen around, but not many boutiques are carrying them around here. They seem to be really nice quality and right up my alley.

    Beautiful!
