I did not see anything at J Crew for a reasonable price and frankly, the bennet chinos I bought last winter are not the right cut for me. So off I headed to my new online casual spot - Gap!
And then I saw them across a crowded room. Well - okay, technically, I was in my bedroom at home in my pyjamas, but you get the idea:
The broken in straight chinos in electric fuschia, which you can buy here.
I know - I got a pink corduroy jacket. Do not worry, dear friends, these will never be seen together!
And electric is not the right word. I prefer bright. fun.
In real life, they are not that pink and I got them on a 40% off sale so they were something like $35 CDN.
This was me on Sunday. I am wearing a Theory tshirt which I got on sale in Spring and now realize, as I look at this picture, that it is completely unflattering! I am also wearing a nice wool scarf and my Lulu ballets. I had a plain jean jacket that I wore to go out downtown to hear the last of the music festival. I got compliments, but they could have been in the "what the heck are you wearing - whoops, those are nice..." kind of compliments. I don't care. I like these and they are very comfortable! I am pretty sure I will order a pair of the regular chinos next sale, now that I know my size, but I simply could not resist these. I bought them in a size 8 but would easily have worn a 6. I chose the 8 as I wanted total comfort!
This a.m. was no Katherine Hepburn day, it was more of a Rynetta day, which I was very content to be...
Have a great day!
Your posts always crack me up, WMM! Lol. That Abstract Floral pencil skirt outfit is so, so, so gorgeous! The shades of green in your top and shoes complement the skirt perfectly! And the skirt looks to have a lovely satiny sheen in that picture.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I actually felt like I was channelling JC - everything looks shiny there! In real life, not so much!
DeleteI love that skirt ensemble you have on! Very pretty! Love the hot pants as well.
ReplyDeleteSame thing happens to me too. I think I like something and then the photo tells me differently.
Have a great day!
The whole thing of gettin your picture taken is discombobulating - you think you look certain way then bam! You realize you DO have muffin top...
DeleteI love those pink pants on you, you have great legs for wearing pants. My legs are like sausages and then the pants become the casings...oh it's not good.
ReplyDeleteI think that shade of pink is terrific on you as you know!
Your outfit today is SUPER PRETTY. And I'm with lifeasacat, you always crack me up!
Thanks Dani, and I admire what appears to me to be such a tall slender figure! We are all our own worst critic!
DeleteAwwww, you're super sweet!!!! What a kind and sweet compliment! You look great, as always! I wanted that skirt, I'm hoping that the J. Crew Factory store will make it in my size!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think we have to rise up against Mickey on this injustice! They can make crazy craft projects, but no 14s? Shameful! And you would so rock this skirt!
DeleteAgain, WMM, applause for embracing colour. Anne Shirley would be proud. LOL on the "what the heck..." inner social dialogue, although sure critique wasn't the case. While I am drawn to all the stylie printed bottoms from JCA to net-a-porter, they never make it to my closet. (My proportions are a bit toothpick-meets-Bibendum.) And while my wellies were out again today, noooooooooh say it ain't so on handwarmers, gloves, glittens and mittens.
ReplyDeleteOh Getfresh - don't you think Anne would be a bit of a JC girl? So spunky and all! I have thought maybe we could form a book club with Dani's younger daughter, who is more charming than a child had the right to be! We could do the Anne series, move on to the Emily of New Moon books, Pat of Silverbush...Dani - you must simply start the book club! And she gets the first pick....
DeleteLove the hot pink khaki! Nice choice :) And yes, you're a hoot!
ReplyDeleteThanks Gigi! You are making me consider the retro green this am
DeleteImpatiently waiting for these pants to arrive... I never would have known about them but for your post. They look amazing on you and I am hoping for the same result with my pair!
ReplyDeleteYou skirt is stunning! I wish there was a cloer pic of the fabric, though....
ReplyDeleteHi Lawyerdoll. I didn't do a close up as I did a previous post on this skirt here:

Sorry about that! I should have made the link back! Thanks for the great feedback!
