George

I am in mourning.

If the news outlets are to be believed, it seems that George is engaged and it isn't to me...

George Clooney, Amal Alamuddin

Luckily for he and I, she is a woman of substance, Amal Amulddin.

The LA Times describes her thusly:

Alamuddin, a graduate of Oxford University and NYU School of Law, speaks three languages and specializes in international law, human rights, extradition and criminal law. Clients have included WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.

They should have added: but she is no Wendy.

I wish them well.  However, I want to go on record publicly as saying if this doesn't work out, he knows where I am....

Have a great day and stay safe out there!

xoxo wendy

  3. She can do better and our Wendy has done better...much better. I'd much prefer drinks with Barry over GC.

    1. Oh I'm not sure she can do better. Barry is a good time for drinks - imagine you and Barry and George drinking rum and sharing stories!

    1. Knityarns, Barry may be relieved, but I think he was hoping we'd get to Lake Como to the George's boat at some time!

  6. Not sure if we should be keeping our fingers crossed that it works out for George or that it doesn't!! But he really doesn't hold a candle to Barry.

  7. She certainly is no Wendy, and I predict he will regret the choice. Let's see how long this relationship works. She seems like one very smart cookie.

  8. I was going to email you to say "brace yourself"!
She seems a bit of a star, what a catch for him, I hope they do actually get married.

  10. BY GEORGE Wenders, you are entitled to champagne, chocolate and a good wallow/ sulk whenever you feel appropriate ;-) But I am glad he's found with brains and a life instead of just beauty. IRL Oscar statuesque is all fine but rather dull IMO. And I do wonder if they will actually do the wedding. Hollywood makes the whole thing so "temporary" sometimes, 5 min. engagements and 3-hour-tour marriages.

    1. Oh and of course George is infamous for the "never marrying again" statement.

    2. I am convinced this is the one, like Annette Bening was for Warren. George needed to grow up a little, but at the same time, I have always admired him for his "I'll live life how I please" and he never pretended otherwise to the many women who passed through it. There is always one that changes it all however, and this may be it for him!

    3. Hoping you are right (sort of) WMM and that he doesn't descend to Hef parody with age. It is true if distant love, you always see the best in him.

  11. I think she should run screaming the other way, she's smart, she could have all kinds of interesting men. I know I'm in the minority but there's something about George that gives me the willies, and not the good willies either... Of course he was definitely never good enough for you Wendy, only our Barry gets that role. ;)
