Snow Day

Again....

I feel like I am on a train, in an endless loop, with these fine folks...

But I am ever hopeful and I am now dreaming of my trip to the Big Apple next week, seeing old and new friends, catching a show (I hope), having some good meals and if all goes well, actually buying one or two new things to add to whatever my Spring wardrobe is (it's been so long since I actually saw it).

Things I am going to look at in the big city:

"They" say it is sold out online.  Which is fine, because I only want it if I can try it on myself!

Jet set geo shift dress
Gosh - I wonder if this would have been put in the 30s, 40s, or 50+ section?
Ack!  Screw you J Crew!  I'll try it all!

Collection daisy eyelet shell
The review says this is very low cut...  le sigh...

But never mind, J Crew is hardly the only game in town...

I plan to finally stop in at Bergdorf-Goodman's and pay my respects...

If I can, I may see the Queen:

She's looking at you, Barry!

Hit a few bars for a few drinks...

Add another plate to my collection from Anthropologie:

Maybe a treat from Tiffanys?  Nordstroms? The Met Museum Shop?

Or maybe just some Chipotles...

Kidding!  Well, I will have some Chipotles, but I plan to have a couple of nice meals as well...

I may even find that Brora shop Dani!

Brora

Well, imagining my trip has cheered me up completely, after the latest dump of snow today!  Which is still coming down...

See you next week NYC!  Hold the snow, please!

xoxo wendy

  1. Oh my gosh Wendy your enthusiasm is infectious. I'm so excited for your trip! As you stare at a wall of snow don't you think you've picked the perfect time of year to go away?
Crossing my fingers you'll have lovely weather but of course in NYC there's so much to see and do.
All of your plans sound perfect!
Yes if you can pop into Brora please do, that would be so exciting. Their stores are so lovely, nice wallpaper and furnishings. xo

    1. Dani - I think I would like it even better if I was returning to Florida!!!

I see Brora's up by the Guggenheim. Not sure we're heading there this time, but you never know! I have so many meet and greets planned I am not leaving myself much room for shopping!

  2. How exciting! I hope you have a wonderful trip. It sounds like you have a lot of fun things planned. NYC is such a great city. Not sure if you are in the market for baubles but Soiffer Haskin always has amazing sales (like, 70% off amazing.) Also, the mothership, ABC carpet, can't be missed. You will have to let Brora know that you know Dani and I'm sure they will let you into some sort of secret cashmere room! If you are a tea fan, Dean and Deluca sells Mariage Freres Wedding Imperiale tea that is chocolate caramel heaven and you can't get it in Canada. Oh, how I love spending other people's money!

We just returned from the Caribbean so I'm actually welcoming snow again but am in the minority. Everybody else tells me to shut up when I tell them that this winter is not that bad!

    1. Love Dean and Deluca and we usually pop in. Not thinking of baubles this time, and actually have no real shopping plans per se, so that may mean I see lots I like!

I see why they tell you to shut up, hee hee!

  3. Your weather is just the perfect excuse to buy/need something from Brora!
I saw 'The Audience' in London and thorough;y enjoyed it, especially the electric heater and the exchanges with 'Harold Wilson'.
Elder daughter is just back from the New York fashion shows, has 'done' London and is now in Milan - it's hard work keeping up with fashion!

  4. The Queen (best possible facsimile with no curtsey or jitters) AND cocktails, perfect getaway. New York and London do duel for proliferation of best heritage/ hotel bars. WMM thank you for taking us away with you virtually. And I am with Jen L. on Dean & Deluca as a possible stop. So many places, so little time I know.

  5. Oh you will have fun!
Sounds like you have everything planned. I always like to have a few options researched ahead of time...google maps are a great help.
Lovely to actually go into a Brora shop....I hope you find it.

    1. I say I have things planned, but you know what, besides the three meet-ups I have planned, want to keep the rest pretty flexible, so we will see!

I saw the shorts, that are in the same eyelet pattern as the skirt amd i found the "holes" to be very big.

  13. HI Wendy,
I keep trying the e-mail you put at the bottom of your post, and it doesn't seem to work. Can you let me know how to get in touch? I just want to know what the Tuesday plan is ,so I can try to make arrangements. I am hoping it works! You can also leave a message on my blog. (KnitYarns.blogspot.com)
