Well, it couldn't come fast enough for me. It was getting lonely in my 50s, so I am very glad indeed to welcome a new star to the 50s constellation: our own Tabitha!
And since she so ably (accompanied by the equally able Sir BP) made me a panto for my birthday back in January, it was time to repay in kind. (p.s. you can see that video on the sidebar)
However, the MacKnights have many puppets at their disposal and decided to make it a bit of a show. The only one missing from this was dear son, who was actually working and had an excuse. We'll get him next time...
And so, I offer you:
A WMM Production
Written and Produced by Wendy McLeod MacKnight
with perhaps a bit too much direction by same-said auteur
Filmed exclusively in New Brunswick sans film tax credits
in accordance with all copyrights, etc, etc, legalese, so we don't get sued
in partnership with BDM Inc.
and
The SWM Corporation
wholly owned subsidiaries of Vandelay Industries
(and you want to be my latex salesman...)
and in hopeful consideration for a BAFTA
(or maybe just a cup of coffee)
TABITHA: THE MOVIE
or
THE COLONIES STRIKE BACK
or
THE COLONIES STRIKE BACK
(No Dogs or Puppets were harmed during the making of this film,
though Barry did have a bad cough and we ripped the tags right off the blighters...)
You do know what this means, right? She's created thespian-wannabe-monsters!
Okay, maybe just ONE thespian-wannabe monster...
And is it just me or did Charles Dickens and Dorothy Parker seem drunk? Just sayin'...
Happy belated day!
xoxo wendy
Oh my gosh Wendy - that was wonderful! I'm sure that Tabitha will be delighted. Happy Birthday dear Tabitha!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I think that Dorothy was definitely sozzled!

Hello Wendy and Hello Tabitha,
ReplyDeleteWhat a marvellous cast you have assembled here, Wendy, to give birthday greetings to darling Tabitha. Of course, it is absolutely what she deserves. As Queen of Blogland, darling T holds centre stage and us a role model for us all.
This was a brilliant finger production, Wendy. What fun it must be at your house parties!
Bottoms up Baby! Enjoy your day, Tabitha.
ReplyDeleteA very Happy Birthday to our Tabitha and a wonderful tribute Wendy!
ReplyDeleteWishing you more years of good health and blessings, Tabitha and Dani!
ReplyDeleteHahaha! That was hilarious! Great job panto-team. I think Melville was my favourite character. Dorothy Parker did seem positively lacquered!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Tabitha!
was Dorothy ever sober?
DeleteStand back, Vanessa and Richard. So great! Here's to Tabitha!!
ReplyDeletePOP UP VIDEO Here with Drunken Dorothy raising a glass of champers to our Tabs. Isn't that what the queen has at Balmoral with her oats and kedgeree?
ReplyDeleteStanding O to you and the troops Wendy. And yes, encore please!
LOL about Emily D. and Marie C.
Guess that should be troupe - have you sourced an agent yet?
ReplyDeletesurely this will go viral and we will be a sensation????
DeleteWhat a birthday tribute! Of course to my untrained ears, Charles Dickens sounded rather regally like Queen Elizabeth : )
ReplyDeleteMay be you should write and create little children's videos. You might have found your calling. Although, perhaps with slightly different puppets!
Oh, I almost forgot- Happy Fabulous Birthday Tabitha!
DeleteLoved it Wendy! So fun to watch this on a gloomy Wednesday morning.
ReplyDeleteHappy 50th Tabs!!!!!!
Wendy, your talent knows no bounds! Happy Birthday Tabitha
ReplyDeleteWho knew such talent resides in the Hanwell? A whole lot of short people doing a very fine tribute to Tabitha. Almost makes turning fifty a fun thing!
ReplyDeletemary - this could be a regular occurence - be afraid...
DeleteHappy birthday Tabs! You and Wenders are setting the standard!
ReplyDeleteI would have been happy to look like that at 30. Or 20. Happy Birthday Tabitha, and What a lovely birthday gift, Wendy.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Mmme. T!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Tabs . How on earth did you get the family on board to make this happen? Mine would be rolling their eyes and then disappear. You made my day.
ReplyDeleteOk, so I finally got a chance to watch (away from prying eyes and ears) and you had me on the floor laughing. Wendy, you MUST make a career or this. And it is so lovely to hear your voices. Now we know what you and Barry the wonder sound like!
ReplyDeleteAB - we don't EXACTLY sound like that...
DeleteI think the entire cast had some bourbon, and some more than others, before putting on the show. Thanks for the fun, Wendy, and the happiest of birthday wishes to Tabitha, I hope you're enjoying the gorgeous weather we're having in Southern California.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh that's funny, well done to the cast!
ReplyDeleteLOVE love loved it!
ReplyDeleteI can probably do an itlIan version!
DeleteHehehe would love to see that one!
DeleteYou're too funny Wendy - what a fab birthday present for Tabs! Happy Birthday Tabitha and well done to the entire cast for their stellar performance! xx
ReplyDeleteCan't watch it yet but how fab. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteOMG hilarious, I didn't laugh, I lay on the floor guffawing like the Smash martians of old - were they over your way?
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you!!
