Where does the time go? I had a lovely weekend - I switched the clothes in my closet yesterday, since the weather has begun to change here, if only so slightly... No cashmere or heavy woolens dug out yet, but time to pack away the linen, the bright whites and the flip flops!
Last week was a bit of a shock to my system - I had not been to work for a month. Oh - I checked in via blackberry and kept on top of the crises, but I tried to limit my working as I was really bone tired, having has no time off for close to 16 months. In the last year my work has been terribly stressful - we have faced budget and personnel cuts and restructuring and regardless of whether the final outcome is positive, these kind of things are never easy to go through!
So Tuesday am, I got up bright eyed and bushy-tailed (okay - that is a lie - I was literally waking up all week long at 4:30 due to jet-lag...) and ready to face the day:
Can't you sense the bright-eyed and bushy-tailed-ness of me???? I am wearing a linen jacket that i got earlier in the summer (provenance unknown but an awesome Winners snag!), J Crew navy t, J Crew navy circle eyelet skirt from 2011 and the mango Valentina slingbacks from this year. I wish the regular valentinas fit me so well!
Another outfit of the day:
I liked this one as well! I am not crazy about me in this picture, but I am beginning to get used to the ying and yang of the photo in a blog....
This is a grey/blue/silver combo. The shoes are the sensible ones from the french company Fugitive by Francesca Rossi that I bought earlier in the summer. The skirt is a grey skirt with silver polka dots from Calvin Klein that I love. The sweater is a short sleeve knit by Nougat London in dove grey. I paired it all with my J Crew Schoolboy in chambray.
Last night, I went to a dinner at a friend's house to celebrate our mutual anniversaries. They were 22 years on September 8th and as you know, Barry and I were 27 years on the 7th.
I am wearing my beloved cafe capris in the pompon pattern from J Crew, gold sensible shoes from Fugitive and the Naomi Blouse in Champagne. I topped it with a jean jacket. My son's girlfriend is in the background - she says she was photo-bombing, me, but she is awfully sweet. Note the beer bottle to my right (your left!). This is an interesting angle - my son is 6'4" and I am 5'2"...
Finally, my Saturday morning outfit, which features the 1969 corduroy jacket from Gap in dark pink.

It was cool here on Saturday. As you know, I have rekindled a romance with Gap this fall. I was so pleased with my white icon boyfriend shirt that I ordered the jean jacket in pink as well. This is a lovely piece:
I also picked up some chinos in the same colour. Don't worry - I will not wear them together. I will model them another day...
This is a lovely jacket - so soft and very flattering, IMO. It is a nice alternative to the expected jean jacket. I got it on sale during the 25% sale a couple of weeks back and at $50, it was a great deal.
Of course, I packed most of my summery things up, and I see the weather is going to be warm here mid-week. Sigh... Welcome to Atlantic Canada in September...
Have a wnderful day!!!
